Delhi Development Authority is expected to extend the last date of applying for the DDA Housing Scheme 2017 by 15 days because around 12,000 flats are ready for sale but only 5,000 application received till date by the Delhi Development Authority. Presently the last date of submitting the application form is August 11.

This year, the DDA Housing Scheme 2017 was launched on June 30 with 12,069 flats.  In the 12,069 flats 384 Janta flats, 87 high-income group (HIG) flats, 404 are two-room middle-income group (MIG) flats and rest 11,197 are one bedroom lower income group flats (LIG).
“An approval for the extension will be sought from Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, who is also the chairman of DDA. The DDA shall demand extension by two weeks,” a senior official said.
 The official said that to encourage the buyers DDA is also taking to the four bank to finance loan for the registration money. He also said, “Central Bank of India, IDBI, Axis Bank and ICICI Banks are likely to come up with loan offers to encourage more people to invest in the scheme.”
The registration amount for the LIG categories is Rs 1,00.000 while for the middle-income group and high-income group is Rs 2,00,000. Only Central Bank will offer loan for the registration fees with the tough conditions. The bank will give loan only people who had accounts with the bank before the announcement of the scheme. Other banks which are tied up with DDA refused to offer loan due to the forfeiture clauses.
In 2014 scheme DDA had received 7.5 lakh application for its housing scheme.  17 lakh forms were sold, on the first day of the launch about 30,000 form were bought and within five days the number crossed 2,00,000 forms.
Under DDA Housing Scheme, the DDA has received only 5000 applications till date and only 55,000 forms were sold under different categories. The provision of forfeited the fee if buyer surrenders are the main cause of failure the scheme yet.
